Most of the people using humor to deal with race, like on the comedy show that I watched last week, one guy, who was Indian, was making fun of his own race. He made fun of how people from India speak and their accents. Another comedian guy, who was White, shared his opinion about racism in a bad and funny way. Moreover, he laughed about it. I didn’t think it was funny at all because some people who were not White might got offended by his jokes.
Most of the people are making fun of racism instead of take it seriously. Some people become the victim of stereotypes or opinions from others. However, another group of people are the ones who judge someone else around them. This situation also makes the person, who judges others, become the victim of their own ignorance.

I agree with what you say about how humor is not the way to address racism and that it hurts more thatn it helps the situation
ReplyDeletei totally disagree because comedians make jokes of other races. and those jokes can really hurt the fellings of others. but sometimes the jokes are really funny plus they are getting payed for doing it.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, for example some people from other countries that come to the United States when are little, and learned english, sometimes make of fun of the people who just came from their country just because they have an accent. I think people like that should realize that they had the great opportunity to come to the U.S. when they were just kids, and it was so much easier for them to learn english. They should be more caring and help those ones who just came and are willing to learn.
ReplyDeletethey say that you should be able to laugh at your self and to never take life to seriously. Poking fun at ethnicity shouldn't always be seen as a negative thing. everything in moderation.
